The Canadian Men’s International Basketball Team has been roaming the lands of the European Union due to the European Exhibition Tour. Unfortunately the Canadians Men’s International Basketball Team lost to Serbia earlier on this week. They loss by a few points, Serbia winning 78 to 73. This came as a shock as Canada is ranked 7th in the exhibition while Serbia is ranked 11th in the exhibition.
Brady Heslip, one of the key players on the Canadian team has a total of eighteen points during this game and three steals. Kelly Olynyk on the other hand was able to shoot a total of eleven points, have nine rebounds and four assists. Melvin Ejim also scored eleven points, had six boards, one steal and a block. These three key and looked upon players played incredibly during the game but it wasn’t enough to take on Serbia.
During the second quarter Serbia was winning by thirteen points and Canada was quickly able to come back to take the lead. It was thought that Canada would win the game and fans cheered from the stands. During the fourth quarter it seemed as if Serbia had been rejuvenated of their energy and came back enough to have a five point lead before the game ended. Everyone who stood in the stands as Canadian Fans were in absolute shock, leaving the stadium with their eyes looking to the ground.
The Canadian Head Coach Jay Triano said, ”It was a tough physical game against one of the better teams at the WORLD Cup. I’m proud to say that we competed well.”
